Who can attend a meeting?
Each meeting in the meeting list is tagged as either an Open or Closed meeting.
Closed meetings are open to any adult who believes they have, or might have, a problem with addictive sexual behavior, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, religious affiliation (or lack thereof) or any other factor. Please note that certain meetings are designated men's, women's, or mixed. Please check the meetings schedule to determine which meeting is best for you.
Open meetings are open to all. This may include anyone who is interested in learning more about our program. Open meetings can be attended by students, professionals, family members, the media and other non-members interested in learning more about the recovery programs.
Meetings are not open to minors, curiosity seekers, or persons looking for sexual partners.
Are there any requirements for attending meetings?
The only requirement is the desire to stop addictive sexual behavior.
My spouse/partner has a problem with sex addiction. Can I attend a meeting?
With the exception of Sunday Healthy Intimate Relationships(HIR) meeting, all of our local SAA meetings are exclusively for people who have a desire to stop addictive sexual behavior. Persons affected by their loved ones’ or family members’ addictive sexual behavior are encouraged to visit the SAA International web site, or investigate other organizations such as the COSA or POSA fellowships.
What does it cost to join SAA?
There are no fees or dues. Local groups are self-supporting from voluntary contributions of their members.
How do I know whether the program is right for me?
If you feel powerless to stop sexual behavior you feel is causing or may cause serious problems for your health, job, relationships, finances or any other aspect of your life, you might benefit from our program. We offer a free self-evaluation you can take on the Newcomer page as well.
I think I have a sex addiction problem. What meeting should I attend?
You may attend any meeting in the North Bay fellowship. Each will have newcomer materials and a secretary you can speak with about the program.
